Orange and Rockland Utilities (Electric) - Commercial Efficiency Programs

Orange and Rockland Utilities (O&R) offers a simple energy efficiency rebate program for small businesses in New York. The O&R Big Energy Solutions program is designed to encourage commercial and industrial customers to install high-efficiency equipment in eligible facilities. All New York commercial and industrial customers that have an active electric account with Orange & Rockland, contribute to the System Benefit Charge (SBC) and are installing the energy efficient electric measures in an existing facility are eligible to participate in this program. O&R will pay up to 50% of the total cost of prescriptive measures.

Omaha Public Power District - Commercial Energy Efficiency Rebate Programs

Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) offers incentives for commercial and industrial customers to install energy-efficient heat pumps and replace/retrofit existing lighting systems. The Commercial Heat Pump Program offers rebates for air-source, water-source, and geothermal heat pumps. The rebate of $50 per nominal ton is given in the form of a credit on the customer's electric bill. The OPPD Lighting Incentive Program offers rebates for a variety of T12 lamp fixtures, watt mercury vapor fixtures, metal halide fixtures, and exit signs. To qualify for the lighting incentive program, customers must first have a light audit and retrofit/replacement proposal done by an OPPD Trade Ally. A list of OPPD trade allies can be found on the program web site. A trade ally itemized invoice must be submitted within 30 days of project completion in order for the rebate to be issued.

Omaha Public Power customers can also participate in the utility's "Innovative Energy Efficiency Project (IEEP) Incentive Program."  Through the IEEP Program, commercial and industrial customers can recieve rebates for the cost of an energy study (50% of cost, up to $10,000), and $400 per kW of peak demand reduced as a result of implementing the measures suggested by the energy study.

Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority - WISE Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

The Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority (OMPA) offers rebates on a variety of HVAC equipment through its WISE Rebate program. This program encourages residential customers and builders to upgrade to energy efficient heating and cooling equipment in participating homes. Rebates are available on air conditioners, air-source heat pumps, dual fuel heat pumps, and geothermal heat pumps. Window units are not eligible for rebates. OMPA will cover 50% of the cost for eligible upgrades through this program, while local municipalities will cover the remaining 50% of the cost.

Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority - Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency Program

The Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority (OMPA) offers the Demand and Energy Efficiency Program (DEEP) to eligible commercial, industrial, and municipal government customers served by OMPA. This program encourages facilities to make energy efficient upgrades which cut summer peak demand. OMPA will provide financial incentives, energy audit and analysis services, and in some cases match the energy efficient investment of the facility. All projects are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and incentives vary based upon the estimated savings and peak demand impact. Upgrades may include lighting, HVAC, food service equipment, motors, pumps, and other custom measures. The maximum available incentive is $100,000. Customers must be willing to meet or exceed OMPA project investment in order to be eligible. Interested customers must submit a complete application, including a full project description with a cost summary for labor, equipment and materials.

NYSEG (Electric) - Commercial and Industrial Efficiency Program

NYSEG and RG&E offer rebates to non-residential customers installing energy efficient equipment that have an electricity Systems Benefits Charge (SBC) included in their energy bills. Both prescriptive rebates and custom incentives are available. These rebates are being offered due to the June 2008 New York State Public Service Commission order to meet New York's Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standard. The goal is to reduce statewide energy use 15% by 2015. 

Custom incentives are available when energy efficiency improvements require site-specific engineering and cost analysis. Any nonresidential NYSEG or RG&E electricity customer is eligible, and customers can select their own contractor to install equipment. 

If standard rebate or custom projects meet the eligibility requirements specified on the individual application forms, then participants should submit equipment specification sheets, equipment inventory sheets, building plans and invoices with the application. NYSEG or RG&E may require a pre-installation inspection. After approval of the application, NYSEG or RG&E will authorize payment in 6-8 weeks. Pre-approval is required for all custom applications, and for standard rebate applications of more than $10,000.

NSTAR (Electric) - Business Solutions Program

The Business Solutions Program offers NSTAR's non-residential customers incentives for a variety of energy efficient retrofit and new construction projects. Prescriptive rebates are available for commercial lighting, industrial lighting, motors & variable speed drives, variable speed drives, energy management systems, vending machines, and sensors. The program also offers a several customized incentives for energy saving retrofit projects that do not fit into the above listed categories. 

In addition to the Business Solutions Program, NSTAR also offers engineering services to help government customers assess energy efficiency opportunities and the Construction Solutions Program for new construction and major renovations.

NorthWestern Energy (Electric) - Commercial Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

NorthWestern Energy offers multiple rebate programs for commercial and industrial customers to make energy efficient improvements to their businesses. This includes lighting, heating, irrigators, insulation, VFDs, refrigeration, air conditioning, appliances, and water heating incentives.

The E+ Commercial Lighting Rebate Program offers rebates for the removal of old, less efficient lighting products which are replaced with high efficiency technologies. The program is primarily for retrofit projects. Specialized lighting application projects in new construction will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Program specifications can be found in the rebate application form.

The E+ Premium Efficiency Motor Rebate Program offers commercial and industrial customers incentives for motor retrofits or new construction. Motor purchases placed in stock are not eligible for this rebate. A chart of the rebate amounts can be found on the motor rebate application form. The application must be received by NorthWestern Energy within 90 days of motor purchase. NorthWestern Energy also provides a Motor Rewind Rebate Program to help customers reduce electricity costs when rewinding existing electric motors. Motors between 20 horsepower (HP) and 500 HP with a standard motor design (such as NEMA Premium and Epact), rewound by qualified Green Motors Practice Group members, will qualify for this rebate.

Northern Lights Inc. - Energy Conservation Rebate Program

Due to high demand, this program has been temporarily suspended. Rebates for washer, refrigerators, and water heaters will be honored through the September 30, 2012.

Northern Lights Inc. offers a variety of rebates for the purchase and installation of energy efficient appliances and measures. Rebates are available on clothes washers, refrigerators and freezers, water heaters, insulation, replacement windows, heat pumps, and new manufactured homes. Duct sealing is also offered to customers free of charge. A list of eligible equipment and rebate amounts can be found in the program brochure. Equipment and manufactured homes must meet all program efficiency standards to receive rebates. All members who receive electric service from Northern Lights qualify for incentives.

NIPSCO Prescriptive Electric and Natural Gas Program

NIPSCO’s Commercial and Industrial Prescriptive Natural Gas & Electric Program offers rebates to NIPSCO's large commercial, industrial, non-profit, governmental and institutional customers, who are making electric and natural gas energy efficiency improvements in existing buildings.

The program is designed to help customers with energy and money-saving projects involving the installation of new, high-efficiency equipment or systems. Prescriptive incentives reward eligible customers replacing less efficient equipment on a one-for-one basis with pre-defined energy-saving technologies.

Eligible projects consist of the retrofit or replacement of existing equipment/systems, including lighting products, space heating systems and controls, steam trap repair and replacement and boiler burner controls. 

Eligible customers include those currently billed under electric Rates 620, 621, 622, 623, 624, 625, 626, 632, 633, 634, 641 or 644 and natural gas Rates 421 or 425.

NIPSCO Custom Commercial and Industrial Gas and Electric Incentive Program

NIPSCO’s Commercial and Industrial Custom Electric and Natural Gas Incentive Program offers financial incentives to qualifying large commercial, industrial, non-profit, governmental and institutional customers for installing new energy-saving equipment. Custom incentives are designed for more complicated projects, or those that incorporate alternative technologies. Customer pre-approval is required for all Custom incentives.

Under this program, commercial and industrial customers planning to upgrade or invest in a new energy efficiency project(s) will receive a rebate based on the amount of kilowatt hours (kWh) estimated to be saved by the installation of the new equipment or systems. The total Incentive Amounts paid cannot exceed 100 percent of the incremental measure cost and 50 percent of the total Project cost. 

Eligible projects, which are designed by the customer, may consist of the retrofit or replacement of existing equipment/systems that result in energy savings. This can include, but is not limited to, lighting, HVAC, compressed air, refrigeration, food service, motors, data centers and IT system projects. 

Eligible customers include those currently billed under NIPSCO electric rates 623, 624, 625, 626, 632, 633, 634 or 644 and natural gas rates 421 or 425.
