Energy Efficiency

Ameren Illinois offers several incentives specific to grocery stores, convenience stores, refrigerated warehouses or spaces, and commercial kitchens, including refrigerator/freezer lighting and controls, and automatic door closers. These are designed to improve the energy efficiency of lighting, controls, motor, and refrigeration equipment used in these facilities. Customers on Rates DS-2, DS-3, DS-4 are eligible for these incentives. See program web site and application forms for guidelines and eligibility. For projects with requested incentive of $10,000 or greater, customers must receive pre-approval from the Ameren Illinois ActOnEnergy program in order to start project.

Alexandria Light and Power (ALP) offers the Bright Energy Solutions portfolio of energy efficient incentives to its commercial and industrial customers. Rebates for qualified, energy-efficient lighting, water heaters, coolers/chillers, air conditioning units, air-source and geothermal heat pumps, programmable thermostats, pumps, motor/VFDs, and other custom measures are provided in order to assist customers in lowering costs and operate more efficiently. Lighting rebates are available for retrofits and new construction, and vary according to type of pre-qualified equipment. Other equipment must also meet specific energy efficiency standards. Customers should review the program details for a list of eligible measures and efficiency requirements.

ALP also offers a custom rebate for energy saving measures not listed above. The incentive is based on a dollar amount per average kW removed during the months of June, July, August, and September. For projects other than lighting and lighting related technologies, an additional incentive per annual KWH saved is offered.

Appalachian Power and American Electric Power are offering prescriptive incentives under the Appalachian Power C&I Prescriptive program to facilitate the implementation of cost-effective energy efficiency improvements for non-residential customers.

The Appalachian Power C&I Prescriptive program offers prescriptive incentives for some of the more common energy efficiency measures. Program incentives are available under the C&I Prescriptive program to include non-residential accounts served on Appalachian Power and American Electric Power’s regulated retail rates. Qualifying projects must be installed in a facility in Appalachian Power or American Electric Power’s WV electric service territory. These incentives are available to all non-residential customers who pay into the Energy Efficiency and Demand Response Cost Recovery rider and receive their electricity from Appalachian Power or American Electric Power in WV. A customer may neither apply for nor receive incentives for the same product, equipment or service from more than one utility.

Demand response is a resource that allows end-use electric customers to reduce their electricity usage in a given time period, or shift that usage to another time period, in response to a price signal, a financial incentive, an environmental condition or a reliability signal.
