
Energy Efficiency
Barron Electric Cooperative (BEC) offers rebates to any member receiving electrical service for the purchase of Energy Star appliances and energy efficient lighting. All appliance rebates are $25 dollars, and additional $25 rebate is available for refrigerator or freezer recycling. Lighting rebates range from $1 to $15 on CFL bulbs, CFL hardwired fixtures and indoor and outdoor LED lighting. Measures such as sensors and smart strips are also available through this program. All rebates are issued in the form of a credit to the member's electric account. Rebates may not exceed the purchase price and items must have been purchased in the current program year. Customers can download the rebate application form from the program web site.

Barron Electric Cooperative (BEC) offers the Customized Energy Incentive Program for their commercial, industrial, and agricultural members to save energy by replacing old equipment with more energy efficient models. Rebates are available for lighting, a variety of agricultural equipment and motors. Additional custom rebates may also be available. A list of qualifying technologies and rebate amounts, as well as the rebate application, can be found on the program website. BEC also partners with Dairyland Power Cooperative to conduct a discounted energy audit for interested business or farm members. The maximum incentive is $10,000 per customer, not to exceed 20% of equipment cost. Rebates are available based upon energy audit findings. Contact BEC for more information on this program.

Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) offers four different programs for its commercial customers for technical assistance, retrofitting inefficient equipment, purchasing new equipment, and combined heat and power.
Small Business Energy Solutions:
This program is targeted towards small business owners and small nonprofit organizations that have an average monthly billing demand of 60 kW or less and are on Rate Schedule G and GS.
The program begins with an on –site energy audit of the business to identify cost effective solutions to increase energy efficiency of the place. Specific recommendations will be provided to manage lighting, refrigeration, cooling, and other energy loads. The program will provide financial incentives up to 80% of the cost of installation of most lighting and retrofit projects. Customers may use BEGs on-bill financing program to pay the 20% of the upgrade cost to spread the payment over 12 months. Interested business may reach out to approved BGE program contractors listed in the program website for consultation.
Energy Solutions for Business:
BGE Business program offers both prescriptive and custom incentives for industrial and commercial customers to increase their energy efficiency. Financial incentives are available that cove up to 50% of the cost for retrofit projects and up to 75% of the incremental cost of new construction projects. The program is open to all non-residential customers in BGE service territory with rate schedule G, GS, GL, P and T. List of financial incentives are provided in the program detail box above. Projects that have less than $5,000 in incentives do not require pre-approval. Businesses seeking specific custom energy efficiency measures must contact BGE for approval.
Building Tune-up program provides financial incentives that could cover up to 75% of the total cost of increasing energy efficiency of existing buildings. Incentives are capped at $15,000 per small building (less than 75,000 sq ft), and $30,000 for large building (larger than 75,000 sq ft). This program covers costs for monitoring, optimizing energy performance of the building.

BGE offers incentive up to $2.5 million to industrial and commercial customers to install Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems on site. The program is open to all BGE nonresidential, industrial, commercial, governmental, institutional, and non-profit customers. CHP systems can be a reciprocating engine or a gas turbine and must operate with minimum efficiency of 65%. The program offers three levels of incentives:
Design Incentives: $75 per KW
Installation Incentive: $275 per kW for projects under 250 kW and $175 per kW for projects 250 kW and over
Production Incentive: 7 c/kWh for first 18 months
Total incentives are capped at $1.25 million per project. To qualify for the incentive, the project must be operational by December 31, 2017.

Austin Utilities offers incentives to its commercial and industrial customers for the installation of energy-efficient equipment in eligible facilities. Rebates are available for lighting equipment, HVAC equipment, anti-sweat heater controls for cooler/freezer doors, motors, variable speed drives, heat pumps (air-source and geothermal), food service equipment, and finally custom and electric measures. Rebates on ENERGY STAR appliances are also available under the Residential Conserve and Save Rebate Program. Austin Utilities can also help examine a customer's potential energy and money saving options by identifying rebate amounts and estimated payback time. Applications must be submitted and approved before the new equipment is installed. Rebates are available until funds are exhausted for the calendar year. For a limited time, rebates are now offered for LED parking lot lighting and Florescent fixtures to LED fixtures.

The City of Ashland Conservation Division offers incentives to commercial customers for buying and installing energy efficient lighting, appliances, and equipment. Customers can also choose to receive a zero-interest loan to purchase equipment in lieu of a rebate. Detailed rebate information is available on rebate applications or by contacting the Conservation Division.

The program term is April 1st 2014 through March 31st 2015, but could be shortened if funds deplete.
Anoka Municipal Utility (AMU) offers the Commercial and Industrial Lighting and Motor Rebate Program for commercial and industrial customers who install high efficiency lighting, motors, and variable speed drives in eligible facilities. Lighting rebates are available for both new construction and retrofit projects. Rebates are available for new motors replacing less efficient older models and new variable speed drives. In order to participate in the rebate program, customers can fill out an AMU rebate form (located on the program web site), attach a copy of a itemized receipt, and mail it to the utility. Rebate forms must be submitted within 6 months of the invoice date.
AMU also offers an Energy Audit Program to its commercial and industrial customers. This program offers a walk through audit that is completed by a local engineering firm hired by AMU. The audit will show how the customer can make energy saving improvements to facilities and explain in detail the different rebate programs that AMU offers.

Efficiency Smart®provides energy efficiency services to public power communities that subscribe to its services. Efficiency Smart assists residential, commercial, and industrial customers of these participating municipal electric systems to reduce their energy consumption and save money through improved energy efficiency. Efficiency Smart, which started in January 2011, is funded and supported by its participating public power communities. All residential, commercial, and industrial electric customers of communities that have subscribed to Efficiency Smart are eligible to receive services, including technical assistance and financial incentives.
Efficiency Smart also works with vendors, suppliers and contractors to provide energy efficiency solutions to its customers.
Rebates are available for projects that include efficient lighting, HVAC, motors, compressed air, refrigeration, food service, and more.
The Business Energy Rebates program offers pre-set rebates for small to medium sized businesses with annual electric usage between 20,000 kWh and 500,000 kWh across all locations. Standard rebates are available for more than 90 energy efficiency improvements for program-eligible businesses through this program. The Custom program provides tailored services with dedicated account management, customized financial incentives and technical assistance for organizations that use more than 500,000 kWh of electricity annually.

Ameren Missouri offers cash incentives to non-residential customers for virtually any cost-effective energy efficiency project. Standard incentives are available for lighting, controls, HVAC, refrigeration, computer/IT upgrades, electric water heating and ENERGY STAR® commercial kitchen equipment. Energy efficient equipment not eligible for Standard incentives may qualify for Custom incentives. Incentives are also available for Retro-Commissioning and New Construction projects. All equipment requirements must be met in order to qualify for the program. Customers are eligible for up to $1,000,000 in incentives per calendar year. Contact Ameren Missouri for all program incentive caps. Pre-approval is required on Standard projects with estimated incentives over $10,000 prior to any purchase or installation and on ALL Custom, New Construction and Retro-Commissioning projects. Incentives payments are available as a cash payment or a utility bill credit. Contact Ameren Missouri for additional information on these programs.
