PNM provides a range of incentives for commercial customers to increase the efficiency of new and existing facilities. Buildings which exceed the current building code by 10% can get 8 cents per estimated first year kilowatt hours saved. Buildings which exceed the current building code by 20% can get 10 cents per estimated first year kilowatt hours saved. Buildings projects which utilize enhanced commissioning may also receive additional incentives.
In addition to these incentives, there are also pre-set menu options that allow a commercial customer to choose from a list of approved equipment with set rebate amounts. Eligible equipment includes energy efficient lighting, HVAC, refrigeration, and motors. The incentives vary based on the equipment. Customers may also receive incentives for custom efficiency measures not included in the prescriptive program. Custom incentives are worth $0.06 per estimated first year kilowatt hour (kWh) savings.
Small to medium sized businesses (maximum monthly peak demand of 100 kW per meter) can also enroll in a power saving program which allows for reduced- to no-cost energy efficient lighting and refrigeration retrofits, as well as incentives to remotely cycle off air conditioners during peak periods. Prior to purchasing equipment, contact Pasadena Water & Power for incentive availability information on the Energy Efficiency Partnering Program.
Pasadena Water & Power offers the Energy Efficiency Partnering (EEP) program for its non-residential customers to save energy in facilities. Under the EEP program, any permanently installed energy-saving retrofit project may qualify for a rebate incentive. The more cost-effective and energy-saving the project is, the higher the rebate. For each kWh that the new project saves in comparison to the existing equipment's kWh usage, the customer will receive $0.06 - $0.44 (for a minimum of six months, and up to 36 months). If the project also reduces the coincidental summer or winter peak load by 10 kW or more, the customer will receive an additional incentive for each peak kW that has been reduced (for a maximum of three years). The total standard rebate received may not exceed 50% of the project's cost.
