Rocky Mountain Power - Self-Direction Credit Program

Rocky Mountain Power offers a Self-Direction Credit program to its industrial and large commercial customers with annual electric usage of more than 5 million kWh or a peak load of 1,000 kW or more. Through this program, customers who pursue self-investments in energy efficiency and related demand-side management projects can receive credits of up to 80% of eligible costs. The credit is applied against 100% of the customer’s monthly Customer Efficiency Services charge on their electric bill, until the entire credit is used.

Project costs eligible for credit through this program may include equipment costs, engineering and consulting expenses and finance charges. For new construction or expansion of existing facilities, eligible expenses are those expenses that are additional to achieve energy efficiency levels that exceed standard industry practice. Expenses are subject to Self-Direction Credit program administrator approval. Participating customers will have to pay a non-refundable $500 administrative fee.

In addition to this and other business efficiency programs offered to Utah customers, Rocky Mountain Power also provides free expert building analysis of recommissioning possibilities. Customers with a summer peak demand of 300 kW or more, willing to make a $10,000 participation commitment, can apply for a Recommissioning Service Provider Analysis.

RG&E (Electric) - Commercial and Industrial Efficiency Program

NYSEG and RG&E offer rebates to non-residential customers installing energy efficient equipment that have an electricity Systems Benefits Charge (SBC) included in their energy bills. Both prescriptive rebates and custom incentives are available. These rebates are being offered due to the June 2008 New York State Public Service Commission order to meet New York's Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standard. The goal is to reduce statewide energy use 15% by 2015.

Custom incentives are available when energy efficiency improvements require site-specific engineering and cost analysis. Any nonresidential NYSEG or RG&E electricity customer is eligible, and customers can select their own contractor to install equipment.

If standard rebate or custom projects meet the eligibility requirements specified on the individual application forms, then participants should submit equipment specification sheets, equipment inventory sheets, building plans and invoices with the application. NYSEG or RG&E may require a pre-installation inspection. After approval of the application, NYSEG or RG&E will authorize payment in 6-8 weeks. Pre-approval is required for all custom applications, and for standard rebate applications of more than $10,000.
