Energy Efficiency
Imperial Irrigation District (IID) offers incentives to its commercial customers to encourage the adoption of energy efficient technologies. Several distinct programs cover general commercial heating and cooling rebates, custom measures, and new construction incentives. Customers must retrofit, replace, or upgrade old equipment with new, energy-efficient technologies that meet and exceed the current Title 24 standards. Proposed rebate amounts worth a total of $2,500 or more require pre-installation inspection. Some incentives are offered on a flat, per unit basis. However, custom incentives will be awarded based upon the amount of energy saved by the implemented measures.

Idaho Power offers incentives for its commercial and industrial customers in Idaho and Oregon to upgrade to more efficient equipment in their facilities. They provide rebates for lighting equipment and controls, HVAC equipment and controls, motors and controls, building shell, plug loads and grocery/refrigeration equipment. This program is for Idaho Power commercial or industrial customers on rate Schedule 7 (Small General Service, Small Commercial), Schedule 9 (Large General Service, Large Commercial), or Schedule 19 (Large Power Service).
Customers interested in participating in the program must first submit a preliminary application. Upon review and acceptance, the preliminary application will reserve the project’s incentive funds for up to 90 days. For projects with expected incentive payments of more than $1,000, customers must submit a preliminary application prior to initiating the project. Smaller projects, with incentive payments of $1,000 or less may elect to skip this step and just submit their final application for payment post-installation. Customers can see how much they can receive by using the incentive calculation worksheet.

Large commercial and industrial Idaho Power customers that reduce energy usage through more efficient electrical commercial and industrial processes may qualify for an incentive that is the lesser of either 12 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) saved per year or 70% of the project cost. The incentive is specifically for customers on Large General Service, Large Commercial, and Large Power Service, although other large industrial customers may qualify. Incentives are given to customers that are making complex energy efficiency upgrades to electrical industrial and commercial processes, motor systems, controls, fans, pumps, compressors, lighting, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Contact Idaho Power regarding the minimum required savings in order to participate. Projects must be completed within one year of signing an obligatory contract agreement with Idaho Power and incentives will be dispersed after final certification and only as long as funds are available.
