National Grid (Electric) - Non-Residential Energy Efficiency Program (Upstate New York)

National Grid’s Non-Residential Program is for electric business customers in upstate New York. Incentives are available for both small commercial and large commercial customers in the Upstate New York service area. Large commercial customers are eligible for prescriptive rebates on lighting, controls, vending equipment, refrigeration equipment, compressed air measures, custom projects and engineering studies. All equipment purchased must meet minimum program efficiency requirements. Prescriptive rebates listed above are through this offering.

 

Commercial customers with an average demand of 100 kilowatts or less per month qualify for the Small Business Program. National Grid provides a free energy audit and report of recommended energy efficiency improvements. If the small business customer chooses to make the recommended improvements using National Grid’s vendor and equipment, National Grid will pay up to 70% of the cost of the installation of energy efficient equipment. The remaining share can be paid through the customer’s electric bill, at 0% interest over a maximum period of 24 months. Customers paying their share in a single lump sum are provided a 15% discount. Eligible energy efficient equipment includes: lighting upgrades, energy efficient time clocks, occupancy sensors, programmable thermostats, walk-in and reach-in cooler measures, and other site-specific custom projects.

National Grid (Electric) - Large Commercial Energy Efficiency Incentive Programs

National Grid offers electric energy efficiency programs for large commercial and industrial customers. 

New Construction: National Grid’s new construction program offers energy strategies, technical assistance and financial incentives to customers who are building new facilities, adding capacity for manufacturing, replacing failed equipment or undergoing major renovations. In addition to providing support – both technical and financial -- in the energy-efficient design of new buildings, financial incentives pay up to 75% of the incremental costs for the high efficiency materials and systems. 

Existing Facility: National Grid’s program for existing buildings provides technical assistance and incentives to upgrade the performance of existing equipment and systems, Incentives are designed to pay, on average, approximately 40%-50% of the equipment and labor costs of installing new high-efficiency equipment. Incentives for custom projects provide up to 50% of the equipment and labor costs of installing new, high-efficiency equipment. National Grid also offers a range of related services that complement the above two energy efficiency programs and assist large commercial customers with identifying and installing energy efficient technologies.

Technical Assistance—Engineering and support services available to help identify, evaluate, and implement energy efficient opportunities for a facility.

Turnkey Services—Authorized, qualified vendors to identify and install energy efficient equipment.

Commissioning—A quality control process to ensure that the heating, cooling, and other mechanical systems work efficiently together to save energy and reduce operating costs.

Buyers Alliance—Lighting equipment discounts on lighting energy efficient products.

Financing—Designed to help assist with funding for qualifying energy efficiency projects.

Small/Mid-Sized business customers can participate in the New Construction Program, Existing Facility Program or may be eligible to participate in National Grid’s Small/Mid-Sized Business Program.

Muscatine Power and Water - Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency Rebates

Muscatine Power and Water (MP&W) offers rebates for energy efficient upgrades to commercial and industrial customers. Rebates are available for commercial lighting retrofits, energy efficient motors, LED exit signs, fluorescent light bulbs, air conditioners, air source and water source heat pumps, geothermal heat pumps, and custom measures that reduce electricity demand. Facilities must receive an energy audit from MP&W prior to any equipment replacement in order to be eligible for demand reduction based rebates. The prescriptive appliance rebates are exempt from this requirement. Potential rebates totaling $2,000 or more must receive pre-approval from MP&W.  Specific rebate amounts and program details are located on the program overview and information brochure. Custom rebate amounts are determined through a meeting between the customer and MP&W and a technical review by MP&W.

Measures must be purchased during a given calendar year in order to qualify for the incentives offered during that year. Applications for measures taken during previous years must be submitted by March 31 of the following year. All rebates are subject to funding availability and the program may be discontinued at any time without notice. It is the responsibility of the applicant to verify that the program remains active prior to making any equipment purchases. Muscatine Power and Water also offers a donation program in which commercial and industrial customers may have a wind turbine or solar array installed on a contributor's property.

Montana-Dakota Utilities - Commercial Energy Efficiency Incentive Program

Montana-Dakota Utilities (MDU) offers a variety of rebates to commercial customers for the purchase and installation of energy efficient lighting measures, air conditioning equipment, variable speed drives and motors. Custom and prescriptive incentives are available for efficient lighting measures. Lighting equipment must meet technical standards specified on program web site and application form. Large customers, as defined by MCA 69-8103(17), will not be eligible for this program. Variable speed drive and motor rebates are based upon the horsepower (HP) of the equipment. Motors rebates also differ based on whether equipment is new or a replacement. 

Rebates of up to $200/ton are also available for commercial customers who purchase and install energy efficient air conditioning systems. All systems must meet efficiency requirements as detailed by MDU. MDU issues rebate payments in the form of a check, which usually are processed within 4 to 6 weeks. Application forms must be fully completed with equipment information such as invoice or receipt, brand, model number, serial number, installation date and dealer information.

Modesto Irrigation District - Custom Commercial Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

The MPower Custom Rebate Program is available to larger commercial, industrial or agricultural customers that replace existing equipment or systems with high efficiency equipment.  To be eligible for this program, replacement projects must meet the following requirements:

Reduce electrical energy usage,

Operate for a minimum of 5 years after installation,

Not be completed prior to submitting an application,

Be completed within one year of submitting an application,

Not be otherwise eligible for an MID MPower Business Rebate.

Applicants may be subject to a pre-installation inspection and post-installation inspection of project area and equipment. For projects that qualify for a rebate of $10,000 or more the savings estimate must be reviewed and stamped by a State of California licensed engineer.  There is also a minimum rebate amount of $250. The rebate does not apply to new construction.

Modesto Irrigation District - Commercial New Construction Rebate Program

The MPower Business New Construction Rebate Program is available to commercial, industrial, or agricultural customers that presently or will receive electric service from MID. Accounts billed on FL or SL rate schedules are not eligible for this program. To be eligible for this program, replacement projects must meet the following requirements: reduce electrical energy usage relative to the baseline, operate for a minimum of 5 years after installation, not be completed prior to submitting an application, and be completed within one year of submitting an application with a minimum rebate amount of $250. Customers should choose the rebate amount formula that gives them the greatest value for kW reduction during peak periods and kWh reduction during the first year. Rebates will be paid in one or two installments depending on the performance period.

Modesto Irrigation District - Commercial Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Modesto Irrigation District’s Commercial Power Saver Rebate Program offers incentives to commercial, industrial, and agricultural customers for the purchase and installation of qualifying energy efficient products. Rebates are available for a wide variety of products, including:  lighting, refrigeration, HVAC and air conditioning, high efficiency motors, and window sun shades. Program requirements, including minimum efficiency requirements, are detailed in the MPower Business Rebate Catalog. 

The rebate program application can be found on the program web site. Rebates are for purchases made between November 1, 2011 and December 15, 2012 and do not apply to new construction, additions to existing facilities, or reconstruction of existing facilities (MID's New Construction Rebate Program can be found). Qualifying products must be installed before submitting an application. All installations may receive and inspections before and after installation. The application and supporting materials should be returned within 90 days of purchase date.

Mississippi Power - EarthCents New Home Program

Mississippi Power offers incentives to its residential customers to help offset the cost of installing energy efficient measures in new homes. A three-level program is offered to encourage the adoption of these energy efficient applications during construction. The Bronze Level, Silver Level and Gold Level each list energy efficiency standards which must be met in order to receive specified incentives. Incentives increase according to the efficiency level which homes reach. Rebates of up to $1,000 are available through this program. Efficiency requirements apply to insulation, HVAC systems, windows, ductwork, water heating, thermostats, appliances and cooking equipment. These measures must be inspected during the construction phase in order to be eligible for incentives.

Mississippi Power - EarthCents Commercial Incentives Program

Mississippi Power offers rebates to commercial customers to help offset the cost of conversions from gas equipment to energy efficient electric equipment. Rebates are eligible for heat pumps, boilers, water heaters, infrared heat and cooking equipment. Equipment must meet all program requirements and efficiency standards in order to be eligible for rebates. Mississippi Power must verify the installation of equipment before awarding rebates. Efficiency incentives are paid directly to the customer.

Midstate Electric Cooperative - Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Midstate Electric Cooperative (MEC) encourages energy efficiency in the commercial and industrial sectors by giving customers a choice of several different financial incentive programs. First, rebates are available for a wide variety of lighting upgrades and improvements. The rebate amount varies on a per unit basis according to the type of lighting installed. To participate in this program, customers must schedule an energy audit of the existing lighting equipment with Midstate Electric before installing any new equipment. The Midstate Electric representative will make improvement recommendations during the course of the audit.

Custom rebates are also available for energy efficiency projects in existing and new commercial and industrial facilities. The rebate amount is determined on a case-by-case basis. HVAC improvements, insulation and motors are among the eligible efficiency measures. MEC can provide design assistance for new facilities and encourages interested customers to contact them early in the process.
