PSNH - New Construction Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Public Service of New Hampshire (PSNH), in collaboration with nhsaves, encourages commercial and industrial customers building new facilities or renovating existing facilities to conserve energy through the New Construction and Equipment Program. The program offers prescriptive and custom rebates for a variety of equipment including lighting systems and controls, ECM motors, variable frequency drives, air conditioners, heat pumps, HVAC controls and air compressors. These prescriptive rebates vary widely depending on the equipment type and the size. Each equipment type has stated efficiency levels which must be met in order to qualify. Interested customers should visit the program web site for a full listing of rebate amounts and program requirements. Pre-approval of rebates by PSNH is required prior to the purchase and installation of the energy efficient equipment.

Custom incentives allow for facility-specific efficiency improvements not available through the prescriptive offering. Eligible retrofit projects may qualify for a rebate equal to the lesser of 75% of the total cost or buy down to one-year pay-back.

PSNH - Large Business Energy Efficiency Retrofit Rebate Program

Public Service of New Hampshire (PSNH), in collaboration with nhsaves, encourages large commercial and industrial customers in existing facilities to conserve energy through the Large Business Retrofit Program. The program offers prescriptive and custom rebates for a variety of equipment including lighting systems and controls, motors, variable frequency drives and air compressors. These prescriptive rebates vary widely depending on the equipment type and the size. Each equipment type has stated efficiency levels which must be met in order to qualify. Interested customers should visit the program web site for a full listing of rebate amounts and program requirements. Pre-approval of rebates by PSNH is required prior to the purchase and installation of the energy efficient equipment.

Custom incentives allow for facility-specific efficiency improvements not available through the prescriptive offering. Eligible retrofit projects may qualify for a rebate equal to the lesser of 35% of the total cost or buy down to one-year pay-back. Rebates for new construction and major renovation projects are available through a separate PSNH offering.

Progress Energy Florida - Commercial Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Progress Energy Florida offers an incentive to its business customers for replacing their old equipment with high-efficiency models. Rebates are available for HVAC equipment including heat pumps and air conditioners, packaged terminal heat pumps, and water-cooled and air-cooled chillers. Rebates are also provided for improvements related to HVAC systems, including duct testing, demand control ventilation, high efficiency energy recovery ventilation, HVAC steam cleaning, and rooftop unit recommissioning. Efficient lighting, efficient compressed air systems and efficient motors are also eligible under this program. The cool roof product must have a solar reflectance greater than 0.70, and must be an Energy Star® labeled roof product based on ASTM E-903 or ASTM C-1549 testing. Building envelope improvements like ceiling insulation, window film, and a variety of products and approaches meant to reduce the amount of heat transferred from a building can be applied to both retrofits and new construction projects. Upon request, Progress Energy Florida will provide a free Business Energy Check to determine if the facility is eligible for the incentive. Eligible facilities will earn a per-square-foot incentive based on the type of material used. Additional restrictions apply.

Progress Energy Carolinas - Commercial Energy Efficiency Program

Progress Energy provides rebates for energy efficiency measures in new construction or retrofits, as well as Technical Assistance for feasibility/energy studies to commercial, industrial and government organizations. Incentives are based on prescriptive rebate amounts listed above or custom amounts based on annual kilowatt-hours (kWh) saved. Prescriptive rebate amounts are available on the program application forms on the Progress Energy web site listed above. A Custom Whole Building incentive for new construction modeled 10% beyond applicable building code can receive $0.09 per annual kWh saved up to $0.14 per annual kWh saved for designs exceeding 20% beyond code.

New buildings greater than 20,000 square feet and designed with a projected first-year electrical savings of at least 15% beyond the applicable building code can receive a design incentive of $.05 per kWh of projected first year savings, up to a maximum of $50,000, or a Building Energy Modeling Incentive up to $20,000, not to exceed the total cost of the modeling service., For retrofits to buildings that use over 500,000 kWh, customers can receive up to 50% of the cost of an energy or feasibility study or retro-commissioning up to $20,000 for a facility every three years.

Once a project is identified, a pre-approval incentive application should be submitted to Progress Energy. Pre-approval is required for some lighting projects and all custom projects, and technical assistance and is strongly encouraged for all projects to reserve funding. A final application and all required documentation should be received by Progress Energy within 90 days of project completion.

Poudre Valley REA - Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association (PVREA), a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, offers residential energy efficiency rebate programs for qualified residential water heaters, heat pumps, space heating equipment, refrigerators/freezers, dishwashers, and clothes washers. Incentive amounts vary by the size and efficiency of the system.

Additionally, PVREA is offering rebates to qualifying existing homeowners for the installation of insulation and air sealing measures. The program provides a rebate to homeowners that insulate and air-seal their attics and exterior walls to the recommended R-Values presented in the 2006 International Energy Conservation Code. Rebates are limited to 40% of the total cost of insulation and air sealing upgrades or $300, whichever is less.

Port Angeles Public Works & Utilities - Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Port Angeles Public Works and Utilities provides incentives for business customers to increase the energy efficiency of eligible facilities. Rebates are offered for a variety of improvements including increased insulation levels, installation of energy efficient commercial appliances, lighting retrofits, and custom projects. To qualify, the work must be completed by a City Authorized Contractor. To participate, interested customers must first fill out a rebate application located on the program web site. For detailed information on specific rebates look at the Commercial Energy Conservation Rebate Brochure and Commercial Appliance Rebate Brochure provided by the program.

PNM - Commercial Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

PNM provides a range of incentives for commercial customers to increase the efficiency of new and existing facilities. Buildings which exceed the current building code by 10% can get 8 cents per estimated first year kilowatt hours saved. Buildings which exceed the current building code by 20% can get 10 cents per estimated first year kilowatt hours saved. Buildings projects which utilize enhanced commissioning may also receive additional incentives. 

In addition to these incentives, there are also pre-set menu options that allow a commercial customer to choose from a list of approved equipment with set rebate amounts. Eligible equipment includes energy efficient lighting, HVAC, refrigeration, and motors. The incentives vary based on the equipment. Customers may also receive incentives for custom efficiency measures not included in the prescriptive program. Custom incentives are worth $0.06 per estimated first year kilowatt hour (kWh) savings.

Small to medium sized businesses (maximum monthly peak demand of 100 kW per meter) can also enroll in a power saving program which allows for reduced- to no-cost energy efficient lighting and refrigeration retrofits, as well as incentives to remotely cycle off air conditioners during peak periods. Large commercial customers can participate in PNM's Peak Saver Program and receive incentives based on the amount of electricity managed by the PNM Peak Saver program.

PG&E - Non-Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) offers rebates and other incentives to businesses and non-residential customers to increase their energy efficiency. In addition to covering equipment and other energy efficient improvements, PG&E offers incentives for efficient building design.

The Standard Energy Efficiency Rebate Program covers a variety of specified improvements, including:

Appliances and General Improvements

Boilers and Water Heaters

Business Computing

Food Service Improvements

Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Improvements

Lighting

Refrigeration

The Customized Retrofit Incentives Program is a calculated incentive program that provides incentives for custom retrofit improvements that are not covered under the standard rebate program.  After a project proposal is reviewed and approved by PG&E, funding is appropriated in order for the project to be implemented. Incentives based on actual reduction in energy use.

The Savings By Design (SBD) offers rebates for technical assistance and design when building energy efficient facilities. A design team can receive up to $50,000 for energy efficient design, while an owner can receive up to $500,000 per facility.

In addition to these rebate programs, PG&E offers a number of demand response programs for its non-residential customers. Customers receive financial incentives for agreeing to curtail energy usage during certain peak periods.

Pasadena Water and Power - Commercial Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Prior to purchasing equipment, contact Pasadena Water & Power for incentive availability information on the Energy Efficiency Partnering Program.

Pasadena Water & Power offers the Energy Efficiency Partnering (EEP) program for its non-residential customers to save energy in facilities. Under the EEP program, any permanently installed energy-saving retrofit project may qualify for a rebate incentive. The more cost-effective and energy-saving the project is, the higher the rebate. For each kWh that the new project saves in comparison to the existing equipment's kWh usage, the customer will receive $0.06 - $0.44 (for a minimum of six months, and up to 36 months). If the project also reduces the coincidental summer or winter peak load by 10 kW or more, the customer will receive an additional incentive for each peak kW that has been reduced (for a maximum of three years). The total standard rebate received may not exceed 50% of the project's cost. The various rebate categories available are: Lighting projects, motors and compressors, chilled water conversion, package HVAC units, central plant, and other.
