Kentucky Utilities Company (KU) offers rebates to all commercial customers who pay a DSM charge on monthly bills. Rebates are available on lighting measures, sensors, air conditioners, heat pumps, motors, pumps, variable frequency drives, chillers, chilled water resets, thermal storage systems, and a free energy audit. Customers must complete and sign an application form prior to project completion. Measure type, quantity and estimated completion date must be included. Eligible customers will receive an Installation Confirmation Form, which is to be completed and returned to KU within 90 days after project completion. Proof of purchase, installation details, model number, operable date and manufacturer's information must be included with form. Annual maximum rebate amount per calendar year, per facility is $50,000. Rebates will be received in check form within 45 days of receiving Installation Confirmation Form. New facilities are not eligible for this program.

Kentucky Power provides a variety of prescriptive incentives to commercial customers for lighting upgrades, HVAC retrofits, refrigeration measures and custom upgrades which conserve energy. Additionally, new construction projects and small commercial customers are eligible to receive a variety of incentives. All projects must meet the program equipment requirements and be pre-approved prior to the purchase and installation of equipment. Customers may then implement the energy saving project and can reserve rebate funds for up to 180 days. Rebates are only provided for new improvements to facilities, resulting in a permanent reduction in electrical energy usage. All equipment must meet program specifications listed on the application form. Final applications, along with copies of dated invoices and product specification sheets, must be submitted within 60 days of project completion. All documentation must be received by December 15 of the program year.

Kenergy offers commercial and industrial customers rebates for energy-efficient lighting and other energy efficient improvements. Customers can receive rebates of $350 per kilowatt of energy-efficiency improvements. To qualify, a customer must notify and submit information about the facility, including desired energy-efficient improvements, for pre-approval by Kenergy. A rebate cannot exceed a project's cost.
Commercial and industrial customers can also receive a rebate of $50 for professionally cleaning and servicing their existing HVAC equipment. The HVAC tune-up rebate is awarded per unit for up to five units. (For more information see the program web site. Note that residential customers may also receive rebates for energy efficiency.)

The Kansas City Board of Public Utilities provides incentives for commercial customers to install, or upgrade to, energy efficiency equipment in new and existing facilities. Rebates are available for electric and dual fuel heat pumps, electric resistance heating systems, electric water heaters. Rebates can also apply to all-electric apartment units.

Johnson County REMC offers rebates to commercial and industrial customers who install or replace new motors, variable frequency drives, air conditioners, heat pump systems and lighting equipment. Rebates are available on the purchase and installation of eligible equipment which meets program efficiency standards. Program application forms detail certain efficiency and installation requirements that must be met in order to be eligible for rebates.

JEA offers a number of rebates to commercial customers for purchasing and installing energy efficient equipment in eligible facilities. Rebates are available for lighting, HVAC measures, weatherization, variable frequency drives, cool roofing, windows, refrigeration, water heating and custom measures. Some incentives are awarded on a flat rebate amount while others are calculated based upon capacity, efficiency, or energy savings. All equipment must meet or exceed the stated program efficiency requirements. Measures not covered by a prescribed incentive may be eligible for the custom incentive amount. These incentives are awarded on a $0.08/kWh schedule.

Jackson County Rural Electric Membership Corporation (REMC) offers a variety of rebates for energy efficient equipment installed and operating in the current program year. Homes or structures connected to Jackson County REMC are eligible for the rebate. Rebates are available for electric water heaters, central air conditioning systems, and air-source and geothermal heat pumps. All equipment must meet certain standards listed on the program website, and rebate amounts generally vary depending on the efficiency of the equipment. Most rebates are available for new construction and replacement equipment. Rebates are also available for adding an air-source heat pump to a fossil fuel furnace. Geothermal heat pumps that replace an existing geothermal heat pump are only eligible for rebates if the warranty on the old unit has expired. A purchase receipt and a copy of the manufacturer's SEER rating information must accompany a completed incentive request form. Deadline for rebate applications is December 31 of the current program year.

Intercounty Electric Cooperative provides rebates to its customers for the purchase of a variety of energy efficient equipment and appliances. Eligible technologies include: geothermal, air source, and dual fuel heat pumps, electric water heaters, and Energy Star room AC units. Customer must contact Intercounty Electric within 60 days after the equipment is purchased and installed, and must include an original receipt and copy of warranty with applications.

Inland Power offers a variety of incentives for agricultural/irrigation customers to save energy on participating farms. Rebates are available for a variety of sprinkler equipment (nozzles, gaskets, regulators, sprays, drains, hubs, etc), irrigation motor replacements, and variable frequency drives for small milking machines. Specific equipment requirements and rebate amounts, as well as a rebate calculator form and application form, are located on the program web site. Inland Power also offers a custom rebate of up to $0.15 per kWh, not to exceed 70% of project cost, for other agricultural measures not included in the prescriptive rebate program. Custom projects must be submitted to Inland for review and have BPA approval before the purchase of the equipment and installation.

Indianola Municipal Utilities offers a number of energy efficiency rebates to residential, commercial and industrial customers. The program provides rebates for commercial lighting, central air conditioning, add-on heat pumps, geothermal heat pumps, programmable thermostats and energy audits. Residential customers who install heat pumps are also eligible for a bonus rebate of $0.30 per square foot on attic insulation installed to a minimum R-40 value. To qualify homes must be at least 10 years old with existing insulation levels less than or equal to R-24. All rebates except the commercial lighting are available for both residential and commercial customers. All equipment must meet efficiency standards listed on the program web site and rebate forms. Rebates are given in the form of a credit to the customer's city utility account. The application and invoice must be received within six months of purchase date to qualify for the rebates.
