Poudre Valley REA - Commercial Lighting Rebate Program

Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association (PVREA), a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, offers a variety of lighting rebates to commercial customers. Rebates are available on commercial lighting upgrades, LED street lighting, induction street lighting and refrigerated case lighting. Street lighting rebates vary by technology and by the wattage of fixtures. The $250 per kW rebate for commercial lighting retrofits is capped at 50% of the equipment cost or $20,000 per project. These rebates must be applied to a single contiguous location. All equipment must meet program efficiency and installation requirements.

Loveland Water & Power - Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Loveland Water & Power, in conjunction with the Platte River Power Authority provides businesses incentives for new construction projects and existing building retrofits. The Electric Efficiency Program encourages companies to retrofit eligible facilities with new energy efficient equipment. Eligible facilities may receive incentives for purchasing efficient light fixtures and controls (LightenUp Program), food service equipment, mechanical systems, and building envelope improvements. Most rebates for equipment and efficiency measures are offered on a prescriptive basis. However, custom incentives are the greater of $500 per kilowatt (kW) of summer peak demand reduction or $0.10 per annual kilowatt-hour (kWh) saved. Air conditioner and heat pump models not included under prescriptive measures may still be eligible for custom rebates if the equipment efficiency is demonstrated to be exceptional.

Longmont Power & Communications - Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Longmont Power & Communications, in conjunction with the Platte River Power Authority provides businesses incentives for new construction projects and existing building retrofits. The Electric Efficiency Program encourages companies to retrofit eligible facilities with new energy efficient equipment. Eligible facilities may receive incentives for purchasing efficient light fixtures and controls, food service equipment, mechanical systems, and building envelope improvements. Most rebates for equipment and efficiency measures are offered on a prescriptive basis. Longmont Power & Communications also offers the Building Tune Up Program, which provides up to $50,000 to help commercial and industrial customers identify significant energy saving opportunities in existing facilities and system operations. Participants must be committed to spending $4,000 towards efficiency improvements if a facility is under 50,000 ft2, $4,000 + $0.04/ft2 for facilities between 50,000 and 200,000 ft2, or $12,000 for facilities larger than 200,000 ft2.  Facility conditions such as energy costs, building size, and building age will also affect the viability of project proposals.

Holy Cross Energy - WE CARE Commercial Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Holy Cross offers a wide variety of prescriptive rebates for energy efficient equipment purchased by its commercial customers. Equipment must be replacing existing working equipment to qualify. The rebate application specifies the type of equipment the new equipment must be replacing. Customers must provide invoices/receipts for the new equipment and proof that the old equipment has been properly disposed of or recycled. The incentive amount cannot exceed 50% of the actual cost of the retrofit/upgrade.

Fort Collins Utilities - Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Fort Collins provides businesses incentives for new construction projects and existing building retrofits. The Electric Efficiency Program encourages companies to retrofit facilities with new energy efficient equipment. Eligible facilities may receive incentives for installing or implementing efficient light fixtures and controls, food service equipment, mechanical systems, insulation measures, and industrial process improvements. Most rebates for equipment and efficiency measures are offered on a prescriptive basis, however, custom incentives may be available; contact Fort Collins for more information. Applications forms with detailed information on rebate amounts and equipment requirements can be found on the program website.

Fort Collins Utilities also offers the Building Tune Up Program to eligible facilities. Eligible facilities must have unique energy circumstances and must be committed to allocating $4,000 towards efficiency improvements. Facility conditions such as energy costs, building size and building age will also affect the viability of project proposals. Incentives vary by the metrics of each potential project. The Integrated Design Assistance Program encourages the construction of new energy efficient buildings by offering rebates and design assistance. A Whole Building Approach and a Prescriptive Approach are both available to customers. Incentives offered under the Prescriptive Approach are identical to incentives under the Electric Efficiency Program. The Whole Building Approach offers a performance incentive and a design incentive. Both of these Whole Building Program options require that the building be at least 5,000 square ft. Businesses taking advantage of the Whole Building Design Approach can offset design costs through an incentive tied to total square footage and those participating in the Whole Building Performance Approach can receive the greater of $500 per kilowatt (kW) of summer peak demand reduction or $0.10 per annual kilowatt-hour (kWh) saved.

Estes Park Light and Power Department - Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Estes Park Power & Light, in conjunction with the Platte River Power Authority provides businesses incentives for new construction projects and existing building retrofits. Colorado Springs Utilities - Commercial Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

The Colorado Springs Utilities (CSU) Business Energy and Water Efficiency Rebate Program offers a variety of incentives to business customers who upgrade evaporative cooling, HVAC, irrigation, lighting, motors, windows, toilets and urinals in participating facilities. Follow all efficiency and equipment guidelines on the program web site. Some rebates vary by the size, capacity or efficiency of purchased equipment. In order to receive rebate, complete application form with all necessary information. Purchases must be made and installed by December 31 of the current program year.

City of Aspen - Energy Assessment Rebate Program

The City of Aspen encourages interested residents and businesses to increase the energy efficiency of homes and offices through the Energy Assessment Program. Participating homes and offices must located within the city and have a BPI-certified energy assessment performed on the property prior to receiving rebate payments. A report with recommended energy efficiency improvements will be made available to property owners after the completion of this assessment. Those who pursue and complete these recommendations are eligible for a reimbursement incentive of up to $225. Improvements include, but are not limited to CFL bulbs and fixtures, caulking material, insulation material, programmable thermostats and contracted insulation improvements. Participating individuals and businesses must be able to provide all relevant receipts for purchased equipment.

Xcel Energy (Electric) - Commercial Energy Efficiency Rebate Programs

Xcel Energy offers rebate programs for Colorado commercial and industrial customers for a wide range of energy efficiency technologies including but not limited to heating and cooling, motors, lighting, and refrigeration. In many cases, Xcel energy will cover at least part of the cost of the assessment, in addition to the equipment and installation rebates. Xcel Energy can also connect business customers who are interested in financing to several third-party lending institutions.

Custom Energy Efficiency Program

Energy efficiency measures that exceed standard options but aren’t covered under prescriptive rebate programs fall under the Custom Energy Efficiency Program. Pre-approval is required to be reimbursed for custom measures. Eligible projects receive rebates up to $400 per kilowatt (kW) and $0.04 per kilowatt-hour (kWh).

Energy Efficient Building Program

Colorado businesses can take advantage of Energy Efficient Buildings (EEB), a prescriptive approach to obtaining rebates for new construction, major renovations and additions. EEB rebates are based on Xcel Energy’s prescriptive programs, such as motors, cooling, and heating. EEB also rebates for approved non-prescriptive (custom) measures which are based on Xcel Energy’s custom program.

While this program is intended for buildings with square footage between 5,000 to 50,000 square feet, any building above 5,000 square feet may apply to the Energy Efficient Building program. Amounts vary depending on equipment purchased and installed.

Energy Management Systems Program

Colorado businesses can earn rebates on improvements to building controls with the Energy Management Systems (EMS) program. Pre-approval is required.

Morgan County REA - Efficiency Credit/Rebate Programs

Morgan County REA (MCREA), in conjunction with Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, provides financial incentives for all ratepayers to improve the energy efficiency of homes and facilities. Upon request, MCREA will perform a free energy audit, in which they will recommend energy saving improvements, rebates and provide some free energy saving devices. Incentives are available from both MCREA and Tri-State a variety of equipment and appliances. Accordingly, the amounts listed above represent the combined rebate from both sources. Equipment efficiency requirements, which can be found on the program website, must be met in order to receive rebates under this offering.  Incentives generally increase for items with higher efficiency ratings.
