Benton PUD offers a variety of incentives to non-residential customers for energy efficiency improvements. Projects are available for commercial customers interested in energy efficient lighting and custom projects that improve efficiency or process related systems such as compressed air, variable frequency drives and refrigeration. Rebates are also available to agricultural customers for making energy improvements to sprinkling systems. The Low Flow Pre-Rinse Spray Rebate also provides for complimentary installations of energy efficient low-flow pre rinse spray washers for Benton PUD business customers with electric water heaters. The Commercial Energy Efficiency Deemed Project Program offers incentives for sprinklers, irrigation hardware, nozzles, and replacement of 25 to 500 horsepower pump motors and special projects.

Tacoma Power offers non-residential customers a variety of rebates and incentives for installing energy efficient technologies in new or existing facilities. Examples of available rebates include compressed air system technologies, HVAC equipment, variable frequency drives and efficient motors, lighting upgrades, and new construction. Both prescriptive and custom rebates are available for many of the technologies and measures incentivized.
Tacoma Power’s New Construction Program is designed for commercial and business customers including industrial facilities, major remodels, offices, schools, hospitals, retail, non-profits and government buildings. Tacoma Power offers expert assistance on new commercial and major remodel construction projects. The program offers a variety of equipment rebates, prescriptive incentives, and custom incentives for efficient lighting and lighting controls, insulation levels in walls and ceilings, and heating and cooling equipment.
Tacoma Power also offers incentives for food service equipment, grocery and convenience store equipment, motel and commercial kitchen equipment and controls and energy audits.

Puget Sound Energy's (PSE) Energy Efficient Equipment Rebate Programs offer a variety of incentives to non-residential customers. Eligible technologies include lighting measures, air conditioners, heat pumps, ECM motors, programmable thermostats, motors, variable speed drives, food service equipment, clothes washers, and lodging industry measures. View the program web site listed above to see all equipment requirements and rebate amounts. Some rebates vary by equipment capacity, efficiency, and fuel source. All equipment requirements must be met in order to receive rebates. Pre-approval for all rebates is required, and funding availability is subject to annual program budgets.
In addition to its prescriptive rebates, PSE also offers flexible and targeted programs to help its customers achieve their energy saving goals. The Building Tune-Up Program offers owners of existing buildings a wide range of incentivized measure which will increase the efficiency of their facilities. The EnergySmart Grocer Program provides grocery store and convenient store owners with walk-through analyses of their stores and then provides a detailed report of the energy saving opportunities available. PSE also provides the small business owners with free energy efficiency upgrade measures through its Small Business Direct Install Program.

Mason County PUD 3 offers rebates to its non-residential customers for implementing energy efficient lighting, motor rewinds, ductless heat pumps, commercial kitchen and food service equipment, and custom projects. Prescriptive rebates vary by type and the efficiency of purchased equipment. Information on some of these programs is available on the program web site. Grays Harbor PUD's Non-Residential Rebate Program offers financial incentives to its small and large commercial customers, agricultural customers, industrial customers, and institutional customers like schools and governments for the installation of energy efficient equipment in their facilities. The program provides rebates for any project with verifiable electric energy savings, including large HVAC, lighting, or refrigeration projects. All projects must be pre-approved and a formal application must be on file prior to the start of work to qualify for the PUD rebate programs. Projects must be completed within 90 days of pre-approval to receive rebate.

The City of Richland (COR) provides rebates to encourage commercial utility customers to increase the energy efficiency of facilities by replacing existing lighting systems with more efficient equipment. The rebate amount varies widely depending on the type of lighting being installed and the lighting type being replaced. Incentives cannot exceed 70% of the total project cost, and projects must achieve at least a 30% wattage reduction and carry a simple payback of at least one year to qualify. City of Richland Energy Services will mail the rebate to the customer or contractor within 60 days.

Cowlitz County PUD offers the Commercial Energy Efficiency Program (CEEP) for non-residential customers to improve the efficiency of facilities. The program offers incentives on lighting, custom measures that save energy, and improvement projects on industrial processes. For all of the incentive programs, customers must sign an “Incentive/Implementation Agreement” with Cowlitz PUD BEFORE purchase and installation of equipment.
The CEEP Plus Lighting Program offers incentives for non-residential customers to buy energy efficient lighting systems. Rebates are available for 'new construction' lighting and retrofits to existing lighting systems. More information and a detailed list of rebate amounts can be found in the program brochure.
The CEEP Commercial Custom Program offers an incentive to any commercial-sector (non-manufacturing) business that installs electrical energy saving measures in facilities. This program offers an incentive of up to $0.20 per kilowatt-hour of verified annual energy savings or 70% of incremental project costs, whichever is less.
The Energy Savings Plan Industrial Conservation Effort (Energy SPICE) Program provides financial incentives to industrial manufacturers for the development and installation of electrical energy saving measures in processes. Energy SPICE Plus can provide an incentive of up to $0.25 per kilowatt-hour of the first 500,000 kWh of verified annual energy savings and $0.15 per kWh saved beyond that, or 70% of incremental project costs, whichever is less.

Clark Public Utilities (CPU) offers a variety of energy efficiency rebates and services to help commercial and industrial customers save energy in existing and new facilities. Clark Public Utilities will send a Key Account Manager to perform a free on-site energy assessment of the facilities. Financial assistance is also available to support the completion of a compressed air audit in a customer's facility.
For the Commercial/Industrial Lighting Incentive Program (CLIP), the utility, along with independent contractors, offers a lighting audit and will provide energy efficient, short cost recovery lighting upgrades. This program is also available for new construction projects. The program will fund up to 50% of the upgrade costs.
For commercial and industrial customers that are replacing existing equipment or installing new equipment that is energy efficient, the utility offers the custom project program. Examples of eligible projects include; compressed air improvements, HVAC upgrades, VFD installations, refrigeration upgrades, and process energy system improvements. Projects are eligible to have up to 50% of the incremental cost covered by the program. The proposals are submitted for reimbursement based on verified electrical energy savings.
CPU offers rebates to customers for heat pump equipment upgrades or conversions in commercial buildings. To be eligible, facilities must be existing buildings (not new construction), have less than 50,000 square feet of conditioned space, use electric heating, consume less than 600,000 kWh of electricity annually, and have a currently functioning HVAC system. CPU's Ductless Heat Pump program encourages small commercial and industrial customers to make the switch from old baseboard and wall heaters to safer and more efficient ductless heat pumps. To be eligible, facilities must have less than 20,000 square feet of conditioned space.
The Green Motor Rewind Program provides a $1 per HP credit to customers who take motors to be rewound to the original nominal efficiency. Qualified motors include NEMA standard horsepower-rated motors between 15 and 5000 horsepower (either NEMA premium or other) that are rewound via certified Green Motor Practice Group member service centers.
The EnergySmart Grocer Program offers rebates on a variety of energy saving measures which may be employed by grocers and refrigerated warehouses. Rebates are available for efficient lighting, refrigeration measures, controls and motors. Rebates vary widely based on equipment type. CPU also provides a program which provides access to E-manager software to their customers, which can help track and identify trends and anomalies in energy usage. Incentives for new and existing web-enabled programmable thermostats are available - contact CPU for program details.

Avista Utilities offers numerous incentives to commercial and industrial customers to increase the energy efficiency of customer facilities or equipment. Incentive options are available for heating and cooling equipment, refrigeration, lighting, motors, variable frequency drives, appliances, personal computers, retro-commissioning, and other energy efficient measures. Below is a list of available programs. See the program web site above to view specific details and contact Avista in the early stages of project development. Incentive amounts have changed for clothes washers and HVAC variable frequency drives. Incentives are no longer available for water heaters and windows.
