LADWP’s Commercial Lighting Incentive Program (CLIP) provides rebates on the installation of newly purchased and installed energy-saving lighting and controls.Incentive levels are based on the calculated energy savings of each project, with rates ranging from $0.05 to $0.15 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) of annualized savings.

In addition, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power offers prescriptive and custom incentives to non-residential customers for the installation of other energy saving measures, equipment, or systems that exceed Title 24 or minimum industry standards. Custom incentives are based on estimation software that determines the energy savings for each project.

Imperial Irrigation District (IID) offers incentives to its commercial customers to encourage the adoption of energy efficient technologies. Several distinct programs cover general commercial heating and cooling rebates, custom measures, and new construction incentives. Customers must retrofit, replace, or upgrade old equipment with new, energy-efficient technologies that meet and exceed the current Title 24 standards. Proposed rebate amounts worth a total of $2,500 or more require pre-installation inspection. Some incentives are offered on a flat, per unit basis. However, custom incentives will be awarded based upon the amount of energy saved by the implemented measures.

Glendale Water and Power offers incentives to small business customers (monthly electric bill is less than $3,000) to encourage energy efficiency through the Smart Business Energy Saving Upgrade Program.
The Smart Business Energy Saving Upgrade Program begins with a free survey of the customer's energy usage, and a free customized Energy Savings Report, which lists the energy saving opportunities specific to the customer's facility. The customer can choose from the list of potential improvements, and GWP will install those measures for free, up to $2,000. These improvements include:
New energy efficient lighting
Window tinting
AC tune-ups
ENERGY STAR® Thermostat
Motion sensors
Refrigerator gaskets

Glendale Water and Power (GWP) offers a rebate to its medium and large business customers with electric bills of more than $3000 per month (electric usage of 250,000 kWh annually ~ $36,000 per year) to encourage energy efficiency through the Large Business Incentive Program. The incentive amount is based on the projected cost of the efficiency improvement and the amount of energy saved through the measure. The incentive is capped at 20% of paid labor and materials costs for approved retrofit projects or 100% of the incremental costs to bring a remodeling and/or new construction project above the minimum Title 24 energy standard. There is also a maximum limit of $50,000 in incentives to one customer per fiscal year.

City of Palo Alto Utilities, through the Commercial Advantage Program and several separate offerings, provides incentives for commercial customers to replace old equipment with new, more efficient equipment. Eligible businesses must receive electric service from the CPAU. In order to receive a rebate, your application must be accepted before purchasing your equipment. Rebates are available for:

The rebate is capped at $100,000 per fiscal year, and applies to replacement equipment only. Applications must be approved before the replacement equipment is purchased, and the equipment must be installed within 6 months of the application approval. Energy savings for the custom rebate must be estimated by a professional engineer. Facilities with at least 50% of square footage dedicated as lab space are eligible to participate in the Laboratory Energy Efficiency Program.

City of Lompoc Utilities offers rebates to commercial customers for the purchase and installation of energy efficiency lighting, clothes washers, dishwashers, replaced refrigerators, new refrigerators, LED exit signs and custom rebates. All equipment must meet stated program standards. Appliances must be considered "residential" in order to be eligible for rebates. Lighting rebates are not issued until a pre and post installation inspection is performed by City staff, verifying that old lamps, ballast and or fixtures have been properly disposed of at the City of Lompoc Landfill or Hazardous Waste Disposal Facility. Replaced refrigerators must have been manufactured before 1992 and be in working order.

Burbank Water and Power offers a rebate to business customers for installing energy efficient equipment in eligible facilities. The rebate is offered for a variety of energy efficient measures and technologies, including retrofits for:
lighting
HVAC
central heat pump units
motor replacement
thermal energy storage
cool roofing
PC network power management software
custom made retrofits that fit program criteria
Complete rebate applications must be submitted within four months after the project completion date in order to be eligible for rebate consideration. After project completion, a final inspection and verification of the installation will be required prior to issuing a final rebate check. Rebates will be accommodated on a first come basis and limited annually to available funding of commercial programs. If replacing equipment that is no longer operational, rebates will be determined based on energy-savings exceeding Title 24 requirements. Customers should call (818) 238-3638 to be sure that a specific project will qualify. Complete rebate applications must be submitted within four months after the project completion date.

Anaheim Public Utilities (APU) offers commercial, industrial, residential, and institutional customers the Green Building Incentives Program to offset construction, installation and upgrade costs of energy efficient equipment. Customers interested in participating in this program can choose from a variety of third-party rating and certification programs including but no limited to: LEED, Build it Green, California Green Build, and Green Globes.

Anaheim Public Utilities (APU) offers commercial, industrial, and institutional customers the New Construction Incentives Program to offset construction and installation costs of energy efficient improvements and equipment.
Interested customers must contact APU to set up initial consultation. Working with a design team and builder, APU will contribute rebates for the installation of energy efficient equipment and measures involving lighting, building envelopes, mechanical equipment, and design reviews. Rebates levels are either $400 per kW saved or $0.15 per kWh saved, whichever is greater. Total rebates can be up to $50,000 per measure and $200,000 per project. After the completion of construction, the utility will inspect the facility to verify that installed measures exceed Title 24 standards. Participating customers will receive a rebate check within 6 weeks of receiving paid itemized project invoices and project inspection.
